The client takes the lead while the coach is there to help the client reach the desired outcome, usually at a faster pace through goal-setting, strategies and accountability.

Is Coaching a Type of Therapy?

Coaching is not therapy, however, some clients may share small details of their past during the intake session, coaching is geared to help a client move forward rather than to focus on past experiences. A coach may choose to refer a client to a therapist or Christian Counselor as a recommendation.

People who hire coaches are ready to take the next step to achieve their goals. This can include spiritual and emotional well-being, along with business, family, and personal goals.

How Does One Become Life Coach?

There are various ways to become a life coach. Some go through certification programs, while others may see life coaching as a calling and use life experience in their coaching practice.
